Challenges:
Goods information need to be verified before they are loaded and transported. Manual verification requires long time and high labor cost, and human errors are almost inevitable. Shipments may be affected and customer satisfaction may be declined.
Solution:
Every parcel is attached to a outbound destination label. Warehouse operators use Rugline PDAs with Android system, RFID/barcode reading and camera to scan these labels to ensure that all pallets are being loaded on the right truck.
Results:
1. Accurate verification of pallet destination information eliminates human errors and shorthens the time needed in assigning trailers.
2. All pallets for a certain route can be loaded in the minimal number of trailers to controlling shipping costs while not compromisig shipping quality.
3. Workers can use Rugline PDA’s camera to record load condition and send it to the warehouse management system. These photos can be a proof for a later possible damage claim.
